Abortion was illegal in India under the IPC, and only women were to blame for crime. A first step toward legalising abortion is Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act 1971. By facilitating legal abortions performed by skilled professionals, primary goal reduce deaths injuries caused unsafe abortions. As soon as pregnancy detected, a medical can be taking medicine. The Lok Sabha has received measure that would raise age restriction mother-fetal termination (MTP) from 20 24 weeks. greatest amount time should pass before not terminated specified World Health Organization. MTP Bill, 2018 proposed raising maximum sentence rape victims 27 2021 amendment act extended window weeks prioritised safety mother's life over rights unborn child.
